| UPDATE:Flo has taken a turn for the worse and had to begin heartworm treatment. She has been through so much, at this point all we can do is pray that she will survive the treatment.
This poor girl was SAVED from a shelter that got not only her dumped on them but many other dogs all from the same owner. The wonderful rescue coordinator at the shelter asked for our help and Lord knows she needs help!! Flo is heartworm positive, her teeth are in horrendous condition and she is extremely obese. She was recently hospitalized with what turned out to be heart and respiratory failure and had to undergo a dental due to her severe infection, there was no way she would get over the infection without doing this, it was risky but had to be done. Flo is now back home with her foster mom after 5 days of hospitalization at Windsor Park Vet Clinic and is starting to feel better. She is taking many different medications, mostly antibiotics. Poor sweet Flo will still need heartworm treatment in the future, but she's so sick . She has obviously been suffering for a long time before we got her. It's just beyond all of us how anyone could treat a dog this way.
Flo's new foster gave her several baths right when she got home with her, the flea dirt took forever to wash out, the water was so filthy after each bath. Flo is very sweet and calm, we're sure she totally appreciated the bath, being inside a house and finally getting some love. Her foster indicated that the heavy stench from when she was being transported home was still in her car the next morning when she took her to the vet, the neglect of this dog was that bad!! We will need SO MUCH HELP to cover her vet bills and we pray she will survive all the medical treatment. Please help us help Flo with a donation, any amount is appreciated!!

Laddie
 | Laddie came in with a group of seven heartworm positive dogs, three of whom have already died. Laddie has finished his heartworm treatment , has completely recovered from heartworms and should hopefully lead a long and healthy life.
If you can help us to cover some of Laddie's medical bills it would be greatly appreciated, no amount is too small!!

OUR MISSION Ponderosa Pomeranian Rescue is dedicated to rescuing Pomeranians and other petite breeds. Our mission is to find these dogs new, loving homes, and to provide appropriate vet care. We work with many animal shelters to help reduce pet overpopulation and the number of animals euthanized by local shelters.
The number of animals taken to shelters has been increasing at a staggering rate. Many have had very little contact with people and may need to learn how to interact and trust people again. Most of these dogs are resilient and will respond quickly to love and attention. It has been said that rescue dogs are extremely loyal companions because they can sense that they have been given a second chance at life. Because you are giving them the attention they deserve, you will also be rewarded with a pet that will always show love and appreciation, he will never forget that you were the one that saved his life.
Some of these animals have also been abused/neglected and many need major surgery or medical care due to their neglect. We pay for heartworm treatment which can cost in excess of $400. It is very painful and risky, and many of the dogs we take in are heartworm positive. We also pay for other types of life saving surgery and depend on from donations received by individuals. We do not receive federal funding or grants to support our rescue efforts. We are a Federal 501(c)3, all donations are tax deductible.
We also accept donations in the form of dog food, treats, blankets, beds, crates, toys, kongs, etc. Please contact us at info@ponderapom.com if you have items to donate or any questions about where to bring them. more information.... | Adoption Application
